Casting Form

Now in it’s eighth year, Scream Factory attracts thousands of visitors each year and for selected nights this October, actors and extras are needed to join our current cast of over 100 to undertake roles and act out horrifying scenarios in the North East’s largest and scariest Halloween attraction.

The one thing that all of our nine scare zones have in common is that they need actors and extras who are committed to working hard, even in cold wet conditions. Actors and extras need to be willing to take direction and adopt the improvisation skills they will be taught at BOO Camp.
The event incorporates three tours, the Extreme Tour, the Isolated Tour (new for 2017) and our children’s Twilight Tour. The Extreme Tour will run for thirteen nights plus a dress rehearsal and special VIP and media previews, whilst the Twilight Tour will run on selected afternoon sessions the weekend before Halloween. Isolated Tours are private single or group tours of the Extreme Tour taken after closing hours.

    • You must be 18+. (Sorry no exceptions)
    • Committed to working a minimum of 5 nights including October 30th and 31st
    • Available to attend Boo Camp auditions and training at our offices in September
    • You must also be available for dress rehearsals and costume fittings

Successful auditionees will be invited to join our cast and attend Boo Camp on the afternoon. You MUST be available to attend Boo Camp auditions and health and safety training at our offices. Boo Camp is your chance to find out more about Scream Factory, meet the management team and some of the actors who’ve been with us from day one!
In return for your commitment you’ll not only have the time of your life getting paid to scare at Scream Factory but you’ll also get to join our ever-growing Scare Family! Refreshments are provided for actors and extras during Scream Factory, plus in 2017 we introduced a brand new wardrobe department managed by our on site Seamstress, Zan. You’ll also have the chance to attend our celebration wrap party!

    • An additional twenty roles are required for our Extreme Tour and these vary in speaking and non-speaking parts across the nine zones.
    • We are also seeking actors for our Twilight Tour who can provide energetic performances and are excellent with children. You must be able to improvise for these roles.

If you wish to audition, we  usually have auditions scheduled towards the end of August and beginning of September at Kirkleatham. Please fill in the form above if you wish to participate and to receive further information.

Scream Factory Family Hoodies are available to purchase upon successful audition and attendance at Boo Camp!

Once you’re in there’s no getting away! Our cast are split into nine scare zones all of which feature their own Team Leader and mascot. Ongoing training is available and the chance to work on different areas also. Some of our cast have undertook training for the make up team and worked with the build team preparing props and decorating areas.
