Finals preparations are underway for this year's frightening feast as the already four-times award winning Scream Factory gets ready to open on Friday, October 25. Last year's event drew nearly 30,000 visitors, with attendees making the trip from as far as the USA and Europe to experience the attraction.

Looking for one of the best Halloween events in the UK? You’ve found it! If you’re a sucker for spine-chilling horror films, you’ll love the Scream Factory in Kirkleatham, Redcar. This one-of-a-kind, multi-award-winning event sees over 100 actors dressing up in scary costumes and frightening guests as they wander around several creepy-looking sites.

Join us as we return to our local haunt, Scream Factory! Set in the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum, Scream Factory is a scare event, with a continuous 45-minute maze featuring nine different themed zones, with three of them being new for this year. We encountered killer clowns, cannibal hillbillies, evil nuns, flesh-eating zombies, and so much more! There is also a great section dedicated to Stranger Things, as well as the main maze, Scream Factory also has a fun central hub area, with a roaring fire pit, energetic DJ (dressed as Freddy!), loads of roaming actors, and more!

The ultimate night of scares, I was invited to review the Scream Factory last year and very politely replied with a "HELL NO!". If you love your scares with plenty of shocks and surprises then this will definitely be up your street. The North East's biggest live scare event promises to be better than ever this Halloween.

What you do need to know is that it’s definitely worth a visit. I travelled from Newcastle to Redcar with my sister which is around an hours drive and we felt it was easily worth it, and our first very unexpected scare which literally makes me throw the nearest person in front of me as a human shield and it’s not even a person who arrived with us. We’re off to a great start and Scream Factory just gets better from there.

I don’t think it matters how many times I go to Scream Factory, I’ll always be a wreck. It really does feel like you are submerged into a world of horror. The characters, the sets, the smells, the bits of material hanging from above tickling across your face in the dark as you move cautiously through the winding maze. The lights flashing on an off, the liquid squirting from the dentists needle. Scream Factory tests all your senses, and definitely has me facing my fears.
I actually said as I left ‘I’m never coming back again, I’m done now. I can’t cope’. But before we’d completed the hours drive home I was saying I’m looking forward to returning at Halloween. Only my husband has said every time we’ve been he could do the isolation tour ‘No bother’, so I think this October, I may hold him to that.

Talking about clowns the other week I headed to Redcar, Teeside with my cousin in tow to check out the preview of Scream Factory.
If you’ve never heard of this crazy phenomenon then let me explain. Basically, you subject yourself to the unknown, scare yourself to the point you want to see yourself and then when you don’t think that’s enough, you scare yourself a little more!
SCREAM FACTOY HOLDS THE TITLE FOR "THE NORTH EASTS LARGEST HALLOWEEN ATTRACTION"
One thing that I was really surprised about was the sheer size of the tour. I honestly thought it was going to be fairly small, even though I knew that it was the biggest scare attraction in the North East, but I was completely wrong. Every time I thought that we were in the last set, we entered another one, yet it didn’t feel like we were walking for a long time. In fact, the whole event went by in a blink! I was also massively impressed with the layout of each set.
